Users’ Complaints
(These can be isolated cases. Replacement of unit can be done under the warranty policy.)

  • Magellan admitted that it has an issue with residential addresses. This device gives you inaccurate alert in arrival destinations. It brings you to the actual street but gives you the wrong number of the house.
  • You may have passed streets by about 100 feet before this unit alerts you that you have arrived at the street.
  • It restarts itself constantly. When you request for a certain location, the screen displays ‘Your device needs to be restarted to increase performance. Please wait while your data is saved’ and it turns off and restarts.
  • It sometimes takes 10-15 minutes to acquire a GPS signal while at other times it acquires signal almost instantly.
  • The touch screen does not always work well. You sometimes hit the screen 7 to 8 times for it to change and when you hit it several times to go to a certain menu, it sometimes jumps to another one.
  • The voice directions can’t be turned up that loud and the voice alert has crappy voice-over. ’42 Main Street’ sounds like ‘footyboo mun st-a-leet’.
